Bingo in Oklahoma

Oklahoma has long been analogous with Bingo. That is due to the fact that the Amerindian bands of Oklahoma have operated Bingo games for years. Clients from all of the neighboring states pile in trucks and travel into Oklahoma to wager on Bingo over the weekends.

The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act was introduced after a benchmark ruling by The U.S. Supreme Court just the year prior. Since that time, twenty three of the thirty nine American Indian bands of Oklahoma have established bingo halls. The Chickasaw were the 1st Oklahoma Indian tribes to take advantage of the betting rules, and at this time operate 10 gambling halls of their very own. Bingo was the game on which these casinos were founded. Electronic games like slot machines were not permitted, due to the fact that they are believed to contribute to gambling dependency more than bingo.

In recent years, Oklahoma rules has altered to allow for big Amerindian betting casinos. You will now discover American Indian casinos with slot machine games, video poker and black jack tables. Craps and roulette are not yet approved in the Indian gambling dens yet, although this is simply a waiting game. Nobody can say with whether having different games in the bingo houses will do for the draw of bingo.
