Oklahoma has long been analogous with Bingo. This is because the Indian bands of Oklahoma have operated Bingo sessions for decades. Patrons from many of the surrounding states load up in vans and travel into Oklahoma to wager on Bingo on the weekends.
The 1988 IGRA followed a precedent setting decree by The U.S. Supreme Court just the year before. Since that time, 23 of the thirty nine American Indian bands located in Oklahoma have introduced gaming halls. The Chickasaw were the 1st Oklahoma Native band to take advantage of the gaming restrictions, and today control 10 gambling halls of their own. Bingo is the game on which the above-mentioned gambling dens were founded. Electronic games such as slots were not allowed, due to the fact that they’re thought to lead to gambling dependency more than bingo.
In the past few years, Oklahoma law has changed to allow for gigantic Native wagering gambling dens. You’ll now discover American Indian gambling dens with one armed bandits, video poker and vingt-et-un tables. Craps and roulette are not approved in the American Indian casinos as of yet, although this is only a waiting game. Nobody can authority what having different casino games in the bingo houses will do for the draw of bingo.
