Bingo in Oklahoma

Oklahoma has for a long time been synonymous with Bingo. That’s owing to the fact that the Native bands of Oklahoma have run Bingo games for years. Clients from all of the nearby states load up in automobiles and visit Oklahoma to gamble on Bingo for the weekends.

The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act followed a precedent setting ruling by The U.S. Supreme Court the year before. From that instance, 23 of the thirty nine American Indian bands of Oklahoma have established gaming halls. The Chickasaw were the 1st Oklahoma Amerindian tribes to take advantage of the betting restrictions, and at this time control ten gambling dens of their own. Bingo is the game on which the above-mentioned casinos were founded. computerized games like slots were not approved, since they’re believed to lead to gambling problems more than bingo.

In recent years, Oklahoma rules has changed to permit large Native betting casinos. You’ll now see Indian gambling halls with slot machine games, video poker and blackjack tables. Craps and roulette are not yet allowed in the Native casinos yet, although this is simply a matter of time. No one can determine whether having other casino games in the bingo parlors will do for the popularity of bingo.
