Oklahoma has long been interrelated with Bingo. That is owing to the fact that the Amerindian bands of Oklahoma have run Bingo sessions for many years. Patrons from every one of the neighboring states load up in passenger cars and visit Oklahoma to bet on Bingo over the weekends.
The 1988 IGRA was introduced after a precedent setting determination by The U.S. Supreme Court the year before. From that time, twenty three of the 39 Amerindian tribes located in Oklahoma have opened gaming halls. The Chickasaw were the initial Oklahoma Indian tribes to take advantage of the betting rules, and today control 10 casinos of their own. Bingo was the game on which the above-mentioned casinos were built on. Electronic games such as slot machine games weren’t allowed, because they’re believed to lead to gambling addiction at a higher rate than bingo.
In recent years, Oklahoma governing edicts have changed to allow for massive Amerindian wagering casinos. You will now find American Indian gambling dens with slot machines, video poker and twenty-one tables. Craps and roulette are not yet legal in the Amerindian casinos as of yet, however this is just a matter of time. No one can say whether having different gambling den games in the bingo parlors will do for the draw of bingo.
