Oklahoma has long been synonymous with Bingo. That’s due to the fact that the Amerindian bands of Oklahoma have operated Bingo sessions for ages. Guests from each of the nearby states pile in autos and head over to Oklahoma to enjoy Bingo over the weekends.
The 1988 (IGRA) Indian Gaming Regulatory Act was introduced after a benchmark determination by The U.S. Supreme Court just the prior year. Since that time, 23 of the thirty nine Native bands of Oklahoma have introduced bingo halls. The Chickasaw were the 1st Oklahoma American Indian band to take advantage of the wagering laws, and today control 10 casinos of their own. Bingo is the game on which the above-mentioned gambling halls were founded. computerized games like slot machines were not approved, because they are thought to contribute to gambling addiction at a higher rate than bingo.
In the past few years, Oklahoma rules has altered to permit massive Indian betting gambling halls. You will now find Native gambling dens with one armed bandits, video poker and black jack tables. Craps and roulette are not allowed in the Native gambling dens yet, although that is just a matter of time. Nobody can determine what having other casino games in the bingo houses will do for the appeal of bingo.
